We at ALF are so pleased with the results of our 2018 Holiday Project:
We served 260 families, for a total of more than 950 people, of which approximately 475 were children.
About 29,000 pounds of food—that’s almost 15 tons!—was collected (thanks to school drives, supermarket drives, community business and service groups, and items that were donated directly to ALF).
Our associations with the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero (Toys for Tots), with Coats for Kids (which provided coats for adults as well), and with the Salvation Army, allowed us to offer more than “just” food.
All this was made possible by nearly 1350 hours of work by many different volunteers—it’s not easy to make this event happen, but we are so glad that it does!
