Atascadero Loaves and Fishes is completely dependent upon volunteers for everything we do. We are always looking for people to handle daily tasks, such as:
- Preparing the pantry each day before clients arrive
- Logging in clients when they arrive
- Interviewing clients to update their information and assisting them with their “shopping lists"
- Bagging the items the clients have indicated they need
We can also use volunteers in other jobs as well. We need gleaners who are willing to pick up surplus food from local markets and growers. We need pantry workers to help break down bulk items and to stock the shelves. Those who enjoy working on computers are needed to input client data. A few times each year, help is requested to prepare the newsletters for mailing.
Schedules are flexible—and meeting other volunteers and clients is enjoyable and rewarding!
Our next volunteer orientation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at ALF (5411 El Camino Real, Atascadero). Please come find out if you would enjoy working at the Center and how you can help. Bring a friend!
(Volunteer orientations are held on the third Saturday of odd months.)
For more information about volunteering, please call Carol Parente at 805-460-6582 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
As your home garden continues to produce, please keep ALF in mind when you have extra fruit and vegetables. Our clients love home-grown food! Please bring your bounty to the Center weekday mornings between 8:00 and 11:00.
